Iโll be working on projects focused on the genomics of the white mold pathogen in dry beans and advancing resistance to anthracnose in dry beans.

Can a resistance gene from one crop protect another from the same pathogen?
This generally only works if the crops are closely related.
Now, Du et al. show a pepper ๐ถ resistance gene can work in rice ๐พ, so long as you deliver some associated genes!
