I mean, they've built something that at least attempts to integrate data it gathers about the world around it into it's conclusions.

Something they, themselves seem incapable. They built it to be smarter than themselves, It's already surpassed those two a long while back.

It certainly would be nice if there were functioning checks and balances.

The real unfortunate part is that, yes, this will ruin medicine in the US. But only for people who can't afford to hop on a jet and go buy medical care in other countries.
