Willful or not, it isn’t evident which is my point. I’m well aware that it’s a choice.

I mourn for the death of critical thinking as some of you celebrate ‘freedom’ while under a dictatorship that is actively erasing your healthcare and other basic human rights.

There’s nothing actionable, yet there are several states with bills in progress to make various parts real with consequences. I am not changing my steps or what I do in schools, yet I’m not ignoring it either.

Blaming an airplane crash on DEI is unconscionable. Families and loved ones of victims deserve answers from a thorough investigation, not from someone’s ideology. This should be a time where we center the humanity of those who are grieving.

I don’t think they know what it means nor can they define the buzz words.

My state (Indiana) won’t challenge any of it, but I know others will.

Flights canceled for refugees who were slated to travel to US US refugee admissions suspended by President Trump's executive order, impacting thousands of refugees with flights canceled.

Arguably, I would assert that Project 2025 was in Indiana long before this new slate of bills.

Criminalizing people for wearing masks in public, particularly immunocompromised communities, is unconscionable- among many other bills that harm women’s rights, LGBTQ+ communities, and children.

Thanks, friend. We are safe. It was just a cruel reminder of our current reality.

If justice doesn’t reflect your walk, commit to working on yourself and spare the world from your performance.

Politicians who publicly evoke Dr. Kings’s words while signing executive orders to dismantle DEI/antiracism work across systems.

We all have choices. If you choose to quote MLK ask yourself how you show up into the work of advancing racial equity and a world where liberation exists for all.

Too often, I note performative actions:

People who publicly proclaim to believe in justice-centered work, while remaining silent in the face of injustice.

People who claim to value inclusion, while actively voting for politicians and policies that are antithetical to racial justice.
