Mechanical keyboard enthusiasts out there googling outrageous phrases like '75% wired low profile flat brown' and the algorithm knows exactly what they are looking for.

The diffuser in the middle is just a tissue paper and some small wooden dowels for support.

Ring of 16 individually addressable 'neopixel' LEDs. I have them all doing the same color but I could reprogram the Arduino nano in there to do patterns. Not sure where my ftdi adapter is tho and this version doesn't have USB so I don't have a way to reprogram it rn.

I'm also 3d printing a knob for the potentiometer. It controls how fast the color changes. One extreme of the knob does some flashy rainbows while the other end holds a solid color.

This lamp has been my longest running project for a while now. Every couple years I upgrade it a little. This time I changed the light diffuser so the electronics would be featured more prominently and it's a little brighter. As a side effect the glass does cool things with the light now.

My brother bought a third party usb-c to headphone dongle and it worked on his Motorola but my pixel 3 says it's an unsupported accessory. I can't even buy third party dongles
