the first of four headshots is of corazon, looking deflated and annoyed. he is smoking a cigarette. the second drawing is cora again, but now he is cheering, “LAW!” he is grinning widely, oblivious to the way his cigarette has fallen and is lighting his coat on fire. the third drawing is doflamingo, making an ugly little grimace as he grumbles, “law…” law is a very divisive figure in this family. the fourth drawing is doffy sneering and doing that weird tongue thing where he sticks it out all pointy. hes happy now.

good news: im remembering how to draw again, and i finally drew cora!

bad news:

sketchy mini comic of an au where corazon lives and joins the heart pirates. panel 1: cora is wearing his standard issue boiler suit as he says, “come on, law,” before correcting himself to, “captain. lets go.” he reaches for law and grabs him squarely by the hat like he did when law was a kid. concerned for his neck, law yelps, “wait wait WAIT! you cant pick me up like that anymore!” panel 2: very scribbly cora helfs law up by the waist. his fingers meet in the middle. law’s face is an odd sort of blank. up to interpretation. cora stammers, “better?” panel 3: cora stares down at luffy, who has law slung under one arm like a mix of a cat and how he carried him on dressrosa. luffy simply says, “like this.” laws face is unamused but ultimately placid. hes allowing this

Four paneled comic page. 1. We only see a corner of Trafalgar Law's face, looking up, a single gold eye looked scared or concerned. Law: "I've had dreams like this before...Too many to count." 2. We see only the lower half of Cora-san's face, mouth split into a wide, manic, open-mouthed smile, showing too much teeth. Law: "Dozens...Hundreds..." 3. Law: "Sometimes I could tell it was a dream." Young Law glares up while a strange shadow monster version of Cora-san surrounds him in an antagonistic fashion. 4. Law: "Other times, I've been fooled into believing." Cora-san stands smiling and putting up a peace sign, wearing a Heart Pirate crew boiler suit. We only see the top of Law's hat, whom Cora is smiling down at.

A four paneled comic page. 1. We see the mugs that Law and Cora were holding earlier, now safely put down on the surface of a table. Law's mug is empty while Cora's is still full, steam wafting up from the tea. Law: "But this...isn't like that-" 2. Cora stares at Law with immense concern as he listens to him, hand still outstretched onto Law's shoulder. Law: "This isn't a dream, right?" 3. We now see Law, who seems to be slipping into a state of dissociation or similar, hand clutching at his face and hat with a smile despite his eyes still brimming with tears. Law: "A dream or, or a THC-fueled psychosis, or, or-" 4: Cora's hand on Law's shoulder now violently yanks him closer by the collar/hood of his hoodie, catching Law completely off guard. He lets out a choked 'HURK' sound and his hat falls off in the motion. "YOINK" is in all caps at the bottom to emphasize this.

A three paneled comic page. 1. Cora now has Law in a tight hug, squeezing him in his hold. Law weakly attempts to return the hug, eyes wide and still full with unshed tears. Cora: "Law. I'm sorry it took me so long...I know you've been suffering." 2. We now see Cora's face to reveal he has started to cry himself, eyes closed and hand pressed again Law's back in the firm hug. Cora: "I'll explain everything, but- I promise. This isn't a dream or trick. It's really me. It's C-" 4. Law: "Cora-san." Law's tears finally begin to fall in earnest, dripping onto the shoulder of Cora's sweater as Law's hand claws and clings to the fabric, hugging back Cora just as tightly.

Waterworks Part Two: Sober Edition

A four paneled comic page. 1. Law's smile has dropped from his face, seeming to have a realization start to come over him as he stares at Cora off-screen. Cora is still talking, but Law seems to not be listening because his sentences can't be coherently read. 2. Law looks down at the coat that has been over his shoulders this whole time, which is Cora's trench coat. Law's expression is becoming more shocked. Cora is still talking, with his speech bubbles slightly more readable now. Cora: "and then seeing your bounty, I-...Law? Are you alright?" 3. Law stares off to the side, away from Cora, his expression truly shell-shocked now. Cora continues to call his name, trying to get his attention, his speech bubbles becoming more clear. 4. Cora smacks a hand down onto Law's shoulder, causing Law to jolt back towards Cora, with an expression that is mixed with confusion, disbelief, and upset. At the same time that Cora calls Law's name one more time, Law shouts, "Cora-san" in a seemingly creaky voice.

A single paneled comic page. Cora and Law stare at each other now, sitting next to one another on the same couch they've been on this whole time. Cora's hand is still on Law's shoulder. Law's expression has turned into one of utter disbelief and cautious hope/joy. He has a shaky smile, and tears are welling up in his wide eyes as he trembles slightly. Law: "It...really is you...isn't it?" Cora's eyes are wide and he seems surprised, at a loss for words.

A two paneled comic page. 1. Bepo hands a steaming mug to Cora-san, who is sitting down. Bepo: "Here's your tea, Mr. Rosinante!" Cora is smiling as he takes the offered mug. Cora: "Thank you! Feel free to just call me Rosi, by the way!" 2. Bepo has moved, revealing that Trafalgar Law is sitting next to Cora, looking very disgruntled and angrily self-conscious. An arrow points to him saying, "Finally sober." He is loudly sipping from his own mug. Bepo: "Ok, Rosi! Careful drinking, it's still hot- Call if you need anything!"

A two paneled comic page. 1. Cora side glances towards Law, still smiling. Cora: "Your crew all seem so nice!" Law is still moping, his face mostly hidden by the brim of his hat as he continues to drink from his mug. Law: "Mh...'Seem' nice. You haven't lived with them on a submarine for years on end." Under his breath, he adds, "Bepo is always nice, though, yeah." 2. A large heart pattern is back-dropping a bunch of headshots of the notable Heart Pirate Crew members. Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi are in the center, surrounded by Ikkaku, Jean Bart, Uni, Clione, Hakugan, and an unnamed crew member who has long brown braided pigtails.

Law's hand comes in from off-screen, covering up the top of Cora's mug to prevent him from taking a sip. Cora looks down in surprise with pursed lips.

A four paneled comic page. 1. Cora glances back over to Law, his lips still pursed as though to take a sip from his mug, which still has Law's hand covering the top. Law gives Cora an exasperated look. Law: "Bepo JUST warned you that it's still very hot." 2. Cora smiles sheepishly. Cora: "Ah, you're right! Thank you. I'm just rather distracted...old habits die hard and all that." 3. Cora now holds up a finger with his free hand, a playfully annoyed expression on his face now. Cora: "BUT- All those times with Baby 5 and Buffalo were an act, you know. But you probably don't believe that, do you?" Cora's speech bubble is slightly cut off, implying that Law is starting to tune him out. 4. Cora is in the foreground, with Law simply having a content smile on his face as he watches more so than listens to Cora prattle on about God knows what.

With a crew of 20 and a caffeine addicted captain, I imagine the Polar Tang has quite the collection of mugs from different islands. Bepo tried to find the least-crass one possible for Cora.

Two paneled comic page. 1. Trafalgar Law is crying the ugliest high cry possible, with tears and snot rolling down his face. He trembles as he reaches out his hands to Cora's face. Cora: "Law, I-" Law: -in a garbled voice choked by tears- "Cora-san waaaaahhhh!!" 2. Cora's face is being squished by Law's hands on his cheeks as Law ugly sobs. Cora seems unsure and concerned, thinking to himself, "I should have listened to that bear (Bepo) that this was a bad time..." A small image of Bepo is below, saying sorry.

A single paneled comic page. Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo are running down a hallway of the Polar Tang. Penguin is shouting back at Bepo. Penguin: "And you just let him in?! During Captain's Trafalgar Toke Time?! What if he's an imposter?!?" Bepo: "I'm sorry!! He had all the credentials and was very insistent!!" Shachi: "Even IF he's real, Law is liable to panic and Shambles himself directly into the ocean!" Bepo lets out a yell, "Captain, we're coming!!!"

A single paneled comic page. Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo all crowd around the doorway to Law's room, trying to all squeeze at once in a state of panic and haste, all shouting, "Captain!!"

A two paneled comic page. 1. Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo all stare blank-faced at the scene before them in silence. 2. Cora is slouched over slightly with bent knees because Law is hanging off from his coat sleeves, Law's body limp except for his hands tightly gripping Cora's coat as he continues to ugly sob in his toked-up delirium. His hat has fallen off and lays on the floor. Cora glances over to the three Heart Pirates in the doorway, whispering, "Help me." He looks concerned for the state that Law is in.

Law is having A Time.

A two paneled comic page. 1. Trafalgar Law sits with his legs crossed, lighting up a bong and taking a long rip. His eyes are red and he's clearly already very high. 2. Cora-san slams open the door, looking happy and excited, shouting, "Law! It's me! Your beloved Cora-san who survived and now I wanna join your pirate crew!" Law is startled and spits out smoke and spittle everywhere from utter shock.

A two paneled comic page. 1. Law now looks at Cora, his eyes still very much red and bloodshot, stuck between shock and confusion as he makes an unintelligible questioning noise at Cora. He is clearly extremely high. 2. Cora is still smiling but is wide-eyed and has seemingly realized his poor timing, simply saying, "ah."

Thought process was:
1. Law really deserves to get really high and just chill out
2. That would be the funniest possible time that Cora reveals himself to be alive

A digital sketch of Trafalgar Law as both a 13 year old and a 26 year old. They are dressed up as one another. Child Law, smiling and looking at his (drawn on) tattoos: "I get to look so cool!" Cora has fallen to his knees in the background, overwhelmed with how cute Law is being.
