I think that is a testament to the fact that people will gleefully pay for garbage that reinforces their worldview compared to any well researched and well written comparable item.

It’s a constant cycle of seeing organizations fester without addressing any current issues but hyper focus on “problems facing our older members”. Then “why don’t the young support us or care?” You are breaking the social contract first by ignoring us and not letting us have a voice at all.

I remember posting about how a professional society was lamenting that the young weren’t joining but then went on to announce their leadership was all applying for re-election. They were all retired in their late 60s and one wasn’t a professional in the field. No reason to bring that up again.
