26.05.2025 14:13 โ ๐ 1036 ๐ 187 ๐ฌ 12 ๐ 3AI stole basically everything I ever published along with pretty much every other writer so, no, I donโt think itโs cool or interesting or useful & now I donโt trust you because you think itโs โneat.โ
Itโs just theft.
I think itโs purely related to when I learned these things. I learned to translate as an undergrad and always did it longhand. Whereas I started writing regularly in grad school, when I almost always typed everything. It might be no more complicated than that!

Flashback Friday! @mattminicucci.bsky.social "has created, in extraordinary #poems of counterpoint, elegy, and autobiography, a dualism (a mirroring, a conjunction, a metronomic pairing) not binary so much as inclusively generative and devastating." (Kathy Fagan) press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/bo...

James Longenbach (1959-2022) was the author of six books of poemsโincluding Earthling, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Awardโand eight books of prose. He is survived by his wife, Joanna Scott, and their two daughters.
The lingering question of what to do with a journal that once took your work thatโs now rejected you a dozen times in a row. Is it over? Was it me and not you? You and not me?
Are you different? Am I different?
Are those stars I see?
A quick positive note: Iโll be heading to Washington State for all of June to be in residency at the Willapa Bay AiR AND received a grant to work on a new book project at the Beinecke Library at Yale later in the summer.
Hope to see many of you during my travels!
Excited to have a review of Paolo Giordanoโs new novel in todayโs Sunday Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
