Here is a good essay capturing the voice of the Iranian grassroots left, caught between internal oppression, external imperialism and those whom the Syrian writers once labelled ‘the idiot anti-imps’.

What a faith it is to be pressed between a rock and a harder place for the last four decades. Islamic Republic’s callous and utterly incompetent despots, the global white order where Israeli army can do whatever it wants, on one side, and “idiot anti-imps” and zombi fascist royalist on the other.

I am full of tears, fear. But mainly ashamed of my relative safety being away from my Shiraz. I am worried to my core for my brother’s safety who is a worker in a refinery far away from home. Working 05-19 everyday. Getting paid once in four months, if ever.

I wrote a short text on, politics of vision, lethal targeting and Palestine and CLT were kind to publish it.
