So, abstraction is very different to my figurative work but something I have wanted to explore for a while. I very much enjoyed building this painting up over several months. It is quite layered and I finished it using oil sticks which are a totally new medium for me!

This painting depicts Vilhelm HammershΓΈi's sister Anna, who was two years his junior. It is one of the earliest known works by him of a figure viewed from behind. The picture created a sensation when it was first exhibited in 1885.
Agh
Thank you!!

This is the best lede I've seen in a tech story in...years? There should be an award just for ledes.

Good afternoon!
This is a commission I completed a year or so ago. I love that my work gets to live in people's homes. If you are interested in commissioning me please get in touch (details in bio). It doesn't always have to be a straight on portrait like this.
Oil on linen.
I love painting so much!
To show size and a better colour representation of that yellow as it suddenly looks so bright in the original photo.

Jon (@churchstreetimages.com) has asked the #BlueSkyArtShow followers for images on the theme of #Flowing this week. While I wait for the sun to peek through today, I will take that and dream of warmer evenings, sitting beside the river.

An alla prima self portrait selfie portrait. I wanted to see what I could paint quickly rather than my usual slower layers of paint. I'm very satisfied with the fabric and flowers. Quick and definite marks. Stropy face though π
There are only 22 left of the original CD pressing of this, the album I made with my 'punk baroque' band Fear of the Forest.
Today would be a good day to snap 'em up, it being #BandcanpFriday.
All sales help fund the release of the new album!
