February 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Lloyd’s Register’s Hong Kong office. Discussions to appoint a surveyor in Hong Kong first began amongst the General Committee in 1875. Captain Robert H. Cairns was appointed a surveyor on 17th February 1876.
