Current read, The Retirement by Sue Hincenbergs. Not your usual retirement advice…this one involves longtime girlfriends, plenty of wine and a hired hitman to take care of pesky husbands who watch calories for their wives, eat the leftovers you have been saving and lose your life savings. Hilarious!

We set aside Nov. 11 to remember the men and women who have served. Keeping the stories of our fallen alive, is a way to honor them. In Flanders Fields by Linda Granfield with art by Janet Wilson is one of the stories I like to share. Do you have a story that honors our vets? #lestweforget🌺

Current read. The Retirement Plan by Sue Hindenburg…a murder mystery with a full cast of characters and lots of plot twists. A fun read.

A lot of people feeling that way. They a winners in my book, maybe not if the World Series, but winners.

The Dodger’s may have won the World Series, but the Blue Jays have won the hearts of Canadians. They played with such joy, put everything they had into the game & supported & believed in their team mates. I hope that each of these guys know we are proud of every one of them. Go Jays! ⚾️🇨🇦

Really loving my current read, Raising Hare, by Chloe Dalton

Always lovely when a friend is excited to comes across one of my books in a bookstore they visit. The Blue Canoe was spotted by visiting author, Frieda, Wishinsky in Sidney.

Current read. The Memoirs of Stockholm Sven by Nathaniel Miller. Actually a novel, but the characters are so well portrayed that it could easily be mistaken for a memoir. A little on the bleak side for my taste. Still, Miller has a real way with words as well as character, &I will follow his work.

You can’t go wrong with books and old friends. Frieda Wishinsky and I after her book launch last night, Keep Our World Green is published by Orca. And even better, Orca’s books are 20% off @bolenbooks during the month of September. Happy 50th anniversary Bolen’s! What a great way to celebrate!
