So what I’m saying is that if we want equality we need to focus on healing our men, because they have been hurt and damaged by patriarchy too. Not date, fuck, or serve: help. We need to help teach them how to have the kind of supportive friendships that women in our society seem so much better at.

Now, I am NOT saying this is on women to fix, because it isn’t, but men need to start being friends with men again. This necessitates the widespread tackling of homophobia; because fear of seeming gay is a HUGE barrier to heterosexual platonic male intimacy in the US.

There IS a male loneliness epidemic. It is real. We have raised a bunch of men who have NO IDEA how to make or maintain friendships, so they place ALL of their social/emotional needs on their partners. When nobody wants to sign up for that they end up completely alone, which is NOT HEALTHY.
