I SHOULD CLARIFY, this whole thread is only talking about the supernatural side of the plot. The whole geopolitics part is, as usual...very poignant and uncomfortably realistic

I will say one more thing though because it's funny. My partner said Daybreak II feels like Ch/tGPT repeatedly spitting out what it thinks a JRPG plot is supposed to be

I'm not gonna ramble here but I just needed to express these thoughts because in spite of the utter befuddlement, I still love and care about these characters. And I wanna see where the story goes next because it's been WILD

We just got to act 3 and I have NO idea where they're going with this game, Daybreak I was so good and now I'm just confused. Daybreak II feels like what Trails 3rd felt like, not *bad* but I am bewildered

I have so many thoughts and feelings about Daybreak II so far and my brain is just so fucking jumbled from it

These tooltips will go onto all of my art and also the video game graphics rips. I still think I'll redo my art gallery to be more conducive to having descriptions/info and stuff anyway, but this'll do for now

I started the tedious project of adding tooltips to most of the images on my site, similar to the <title> tag where you can mouse over the image to see more info, but I like using tooltips more because it also works on mobile by long-pressing on the image. And I get to style them. (⁠◡⁠ ⁠ω⁠ ⁠◡⁠)

Perhaps today I will actually publish the updates to my website I've been wanting to make (⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠;⁠)

Looking at this makes me cringe a little bit because I made Tiamat's face look like the textbook definition of "anime"

I know these types of characters are written this way partially *to* get under your skin, that's the point, but it crosses the line for me over to taking points off the experience as a whole, rather than making me feel anger because I'm invested. It just annoys me too much LOL

This is coming up because my partner and I picked up Trails Through Daybreak II and I want Ixs to just go away, he's a prime example of said "shitty little boy" characters. Scaramouche is also a great example. Just cocky asshole brat dialogue that wastes my time and doesn't offer anything useful

I really wanna go on a rant about how much I hate characters I can only describe as "shitty little boys" but there's no coherence to it. I just hate them. Not in a fun way like they were written to be, in a "this media is less enjoyable for me when this character is onscreen" kind of way

Man I'm really trying to like Pokemon Pisces. It's clear that a lot of effort went into it and I've been really enjoying the uniqueness and the additions, especially now that I can consult documentation about changes in the battle mechanics. But I just got myself stuck in what feels like a softlock
