Walks!!! • walls!
Good idea. I’ll see if Mummy will put them up on their walks.
George’s could go above his reading sofa in his room, next to his star chart!

There was a young feller called Jack,
Who played in an old coal sack.
He rolled around,
All over the ground,
Until he was dirty and black.
I wrote a limerick for each of my grandsons today.
Here’s George’s:
When George went to play in the park,
Mummy said “Be back before dark.”
George said: I’ll stay,
And play there all day,
And get home after dark for a lark.”

Exactly. Personally, I find the front-line staff to be caring, compassionate, and efficient.
But don’t get me started on the unnecessary layers of bureaucracy and wasteful gravy-train management.
Having interviewed hospital doctors as research for my last novel, they feel the same!
Just caught up with the series finale of Call The Midwife.
What an emotional, sad, and tear-jerking episode, while being hopeful at the same time.
The passing of the old era, along with a much-loved character, and the possibility of a bright new dawn.
TV at its very, very best.

Time to get the water feature out of hibernation
Thank you. It was. It’s such a long time ago, but in some ways the memories still seem fresh.
Eight years ago today, fellow novelist @DMCain84 and I shared a stand at a book fair in Coalville, in our home county of Leicestershire.

Currently watching a rerun of The Invaders, for the first time since it was originally broadcast in 1967 and 1968.
It’s particularly poignant for me, as I was watching an episode on 15 May 1967 when Mum took a phone call from the hospital to tell her my Dad had died 💔💔
He also referred me for an X-Ray, ultra-sound scan, and endoscopy.
This afternoon, my local hospital rang with an appointment for an X-Ray tomorrow morning.
What incredible service from the NHS.
This is why we must keep Farage and Reform out, as they want to destroy the NHS.

Hats off to the NHS.
I rang my doctor on Friday. They made an appointment for me with a nurse practitioner at a clinic on Saturday. She sent her notes to my GP, who rang me at 8.01 this morning with a face-to-face appointment at 11.20.
He booked blood tests for 11.50.

Twelve years ago today fellow novelist DM Cain and I met face-to-face for the first time, having corresponded on Twitter for a few days, after we discovered we lived literally 1,000 yards from each other!
What a small world.

And we’re off…
Amen
Now there’s a name from the past that today’s youngsters won’t have heard of.
First of all, George was watching The Highway Rat.
Now he’s having a Mars ice cream.
Just back from a trip in my time machine to 2046.
Came across a powerful magazine article about a company who had started future-proofing its manufacturing plant now, in 2026.
The catalyst: the short-sighted current Government’s employment costs imposed on all employers.
