if you ever randomly get the urge to donate to the democratic party, feel free to venmo that money to me or another trans person instead - we'll make sure it doesn't get used to take away people's healthcare

Unless Democratic Senators who voted no on the #Schumersurrender today explicitly call for Schumer to resign or step aside - they all own this cave. Just pushing out performative posts and press releases don’t count for much anymore. Enough.

Just called Senator @schumer.senate.gov and told him he is a disgrace, that I don’t care that he negotiated a public “no” to save his own ass, and if he can’t keep the caucus together on something as basic as healthcare for millions, he needs to immediately resign as minority leader. 202-224-6542

LIVE: I Won't Support Doubling Health Care Premiums YouTube video by Senator Bernie Sanders

I’m voting no on the continuing resolution that would double healthcare premiums for 20 million Americans, kick 15 million people off Medicaid & allow 50,000 Americans to die unnecessarily every year.

All to give $1 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

Republicans are losing this fight right now. Why the hell would Democrats cave with nothing for the working people? When millions are losing healthcare?

If you cave now, you don’t deserve to lead, you deserve to be replaced.

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately.

He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go.

Literally resign tonight.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?

This vote has not happened yet. Call your Senators, especially your Democratic Senators, and tell them that a deal without protection NOW for health insurance tax credits is unacceptable.

Opinion: This is UConn: Zero paid family leave for professors UConn currently lets every pregnant/expecting individual reinvent the wheel, cobbling together a leave plan with whatever resources and departmental grace they can muster.

I wrote an opinion piece about parental/family leave at UConn. I’m only ~75% happy with it but … something needed to be said. Many things actually. Loudly. Repeatedly. And with as many voices as possible.

Trump mandates all federal agencies send email blaming Dems for potential gov’t shutdown Workers call the partisan email "a vile slap in the face."

SCOOP — The White House instructed all federal agency leadership on Tuesday to send out a mandatory message to workers blaming the impending potential government shutdown on House Democrats, The Handbasket was first to learn. Absolutely no modifications to the email were permitted.

i do not think it can be overstated at this point that we do not know who killed charlie kirk or why they did it.

I ignored the murder of Melissa Hortman. Here’s why I’ll be talking about the murder of Charlie Kirk all day today.

by most liberal pundits

The orgy of liberal pundits tripping over each other to praise Charlie Kirk—when he caused so much violence to the lives of Black and LGBTQ people (including me specifically)—is telling about why the Dems can’t build an antifascist coalition.

I am genuinely confused by all this pageantry. He was not an elected official. I cannot think of another time a regular citizen being killed garnered this response. It’s perverse.

If Charlie Kirk had been, say, a Black Panther or member of the Nation of Islam and went around college campuses saying white people weren't qualified to fly planes or deserved to die in mass shootings, no one would eulogize him by saying he was "practicing politics the right way."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Governor Polis Orders Flags to Half-Staff to Honor the Anniversary of September 11th and the Passing of Charlie Kirk

Someone shot up my kid's school today, and our governor is paying tribute to a guy who thought that is an acceptable price to pay for having the Second Amendment.

Jared Polis has failed Colorado.

Amazing how those democratic lawmakers who were hunted down in their homes in the middle of the night in Minnesota weren’t a watershed moment of political violence, huh?

Kinda rings hollow that the same people condemning political violence because of the assassination of Charlie Kirk have been cheering on the mass starvation and slaughter of children in Gaza for years

Gavin Newsom really posted that the best way to honor Charlie Kirk's memory is by continuing his work.

Fuck you, Gavin.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

Well, the hearing is over. Even Crapo noted at the end that RFK has not been responsive to committee requests. This poster need to touch grass after that clown show. RFK definitely used the Kavanaugh approach, just yell back at everyone.

TL:DR America is fucked. #SacktheQuack

RFK Jr. CAN’T read readily available data on how many Americans died during the pandemic.

He CAN read “data” that supports the debunked junk claim that vaccines cause autism.

RFK Jr. is selectively illiterate when it comes to anything that isn't a clickbait conspiracy. #ImpeachRFK
