This is an excellent nuanced take. On top of usability issues, FIDO2 passkeys are also not enterprise-ready (device-bound, hardware-backed, standard UX across all browsers & OSes, policy-controlled).
Note: I'm biased as I work for a vendor that offers the above (supports FIDO2 but goes beyond).
