What bad luck but good luck with your trip to Guernsey and the house research.

Also very keen to network more broadly with people working on medicine and the senses!

It's tough being in higher education in the UK for students and staff. Course cuts, redundancies and so tough for young people to get a foot on the academic ladder. So just wanted to share this good news concerning my son, Stefan. We know the huge amount of hard work that goes into your research.

That's a pretty impressive achievement - just like her winning run at Melbourne Park.

She founded Kindness Wins to promote kindness and provide opportunities for young people in the US. She was inspired by her grandmother, Bertha, and mother, Christine, who urged her to be kind. Keys' goals for the organisation are to create a kinder world for people of all genders, ages, and races.

Kindness is in pretty short supply in many parts of the modern world. So, it was refreshing to research the philanthropic work that recently crowned Aussie Open tennis champion Madison Keys has been involved in. 1/4

This is a request to all those brilliant folk who carry out oral history interviews. I am hoping to carry out some interviews next year and am wondering what is the best equipment to buy. What do you use? How much does it cost? What is the simplest way to do the best job? Thanks!

Here's wishing triathlete Alistair Brownlee good luck in retirement. His legacy goes beyond sport as he and brother Jonny set up the Brownlee Foundation a few years ago to encourage young people from all backgrounds to enjoy sport and lead healthy lifestyles.

So, in a different context, if we want one day to tell the story of the charity sector and its impact, we may find ourselves struggling. Please think about your archives. Our actions today could enable future generations to tell our philanthropic story tomorrow. 3/3

I talk to grant-giving trusts and charities about the importance of preserving papers (or online records). However, recently I have encountered situations where records have been thrown for spaces reasons or they are in unsuitable locations or there isn't enough time to sort through the boxes. 2/3

Anyone else in awe at the brilliance of the latest A House Through Time series, fronted by the masterly David Olusoga? One thing struck me watching series 5 (two cities at war) was the effort made after WW2 to save archives for posterity. Without such diligence, this prog wouldn't be possible. 1/3

Thank you, Howard. Lovely to be on this site - finally - and to see some familiar faces. Looking forward to meeting new folk as well.
