This movie is about a random guy just appearing in people's dreams globally, without provocation by him. It's interesting, because he's just a normal person, so he's not great at taking advantage of it, and when things turn sour he's helpless to stop it. Genuinely worth a watch

So I have a list of roughly 200 movies that are "must watches" this year, but I intentionally left room to just poke around and find random films on streaming sites. So if I saw a movie featuring bald Nick Cage called Dream Scenario, I could watch that too. #dailymoviewatch

Don't get me wrong, this movie was fantastic, but how fast he went from being interested in a woman, to hating her, to buying several guns, to wanting to shoot a candidate, to liberating a prostitute is nuts. And in spite of all that he ended up in the same place he started

Today I watched Taxi Driver. It's genuinely surprising how different Robert De Niro looks in this movie. I mean you can tell it's him, but besides this and The Godfather, I've mostly only seen him when he was older, and in nothing like this #dailymoviewatch

The cynic in me wants to call this movie "old people rizz" but this is genuinely one of the saddest love stories I've ever seen. Specifically, the old folks home part, their actual love story was kind of messy. I liked it a lot.

It's Valentine's Day, so figured I'd better watch the chickiest chick flick which has ever chicked: The Notebook. Considering how long it's been out and how many times I hear it referenced, I genuinely knew nothing about it going in. #dailymoviewatch

Now, I'm not going to pretend that the evil army in this movie isn't a bunch of black guys with spears literally called subhumans, because it is. However, this movie is gorgeous, and the animation is incredibly smooth. It's mostly rotoscope, and it looks amazing

Today I watched Fire and Ice, an animated movie by the same guy who made the animated Lord of the Rings movie. I talk about liking animation a lot, but the animated LOTR film I love so much I've seen it more than the Peter Jackson movies. So this has been a long time coming #dailymoviewatch

I really liked this movie. It was very music focused, which I always appreciate, and the leitmotif was really nice. Also it took place during red scare America with a bunch of cool old cars and architecture. The man who's fingers were slowly rotting was disturbing. Besides that it was a good time

The Shape of Water is a movie that I've known the premise of for quite a while. Kind of ET/Free Willy meets a love story. That's the kind of weird stuff that draws me into a movie #dailymoviewatch

This movie is truly a strange window to the past. I never knew Steve-o could speak; I'm so used to his thrashed vocal chords that hearing him in this movie was shocking. Also I never like seeing Americans be assholes in Japan. Otherwise, it's a Jackass movie, you get what you pay for.

I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. They took a LOT of inspiration from older Disney movies. The font choices, the book intro, and even the magic effects felt heavily inspired by classic animation. Some of the songs were iffy, but by and large it was enjoyable

I love this movie. The fact we see Geppetto's other creations are meticulously carved and detailed, and the one that gets brought to life is the carving he half finished on a drunken bender is so good. And the animation is so incredibly impressive. This might be my new favorite this year.

2022 was, for some reason, the year of Pinocchio movies. There were at least 3 of them, and today I watched the one that by far was the most interesting to me: the stop motion animated one by Guillermo del Toro. #dailymoviewatch

I'm sorry, Patrick Swayze could give me the biggest puppy-dog eyes in the world, but after 30+ bank robberies, multiple deaths (including my partner), forcing me to jump out of a plane without a chute, and making me track him across the globe I'm bringing that fucker in

This movie was so sick. It seemed faithful to the show, it brought He-Man to the real world in a way that wasn't too stupid, the costumes were great, the action was fun, and the effects were nostalgic while still looking pretty good. I'm surprised I don't hear people talk about this movie more.

With respect to Bruce Campbell, it's terrible. It had moments that I did genuinely enjoy, but wow. This movies jokes are some of the most dated I've seen in a while. It felt like a poor taste beta test for Ash vs Evil Dead

There were several scenes in this movie that just visually wowed me. The first few minutes the animation during the hospital fire looked really incredible. But in general the animation in this movie just felt so alive. The story was very weird, but the ending was nice.

They really don't make movies with this big of a disposable car budget anymore. This movie was insane. They create at least 2 ten car pileups, crash an RV, a truck, a semi, and smash through so many glass walls and buildings. Genuinely impressive
