Sometimes a snarky wit, sometimes political, sometimes treating this place like it's my college LiveJournal account. Supportive when I can be. *** Bodily autonomy is a human right. *** Constitutional convention for the new millennium when?

*generalized reaching into the void because if I try to reach anyone specific my brain will go into "pretending I'm fine" mode, and I don't want that*

That fucking middle bit.
Manosphere and objectively wrong. As a 41 yo, female-perceived person, the guy friends in my age cohort are muuuuuch more able to get it than I am. And I'm not unattractive or a parent!

09.06.2025 23:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Duolingo screenshot that proudly proclaims "I'm on a 787 day learning streak!"
After 2 years and 57 days, this streak is about to come to an end. It might make it another day or two, but after that I will be off in the mountains and very much unable to continue satisfying the green owl's requirements.
If we share a friend streak on Duolingo, my apologies in advance.
In terms of ego, tech bros *hate* that there's other valid stuff in the world that other people could be better at than them.
In terms of money, how can you control the world if there's not One True Technology, but rather a diverse ecosystem of lots of little different types of technologies?
I canβt understand, after the last 30 years of it happening EVERY TIME, how people think AI is going to stay free
Once everyoneβs reliant, itβll cost a fortune we just βhaveβ to pay
Its energy needs will cost us the only world we have
All so someone doesnβt have to write their own Reddit shitpost
It would have to have ALL the Trek, though. And that one episode of Reading Rainbow, as a treat.

02.06.2025 04:41 β π 59 π 16 π¬ 2 π 1Doing something wrong/badly.
I wouldn't say I *love* it now, but I've finally learned that doing a thing poorly is way better than not doing it at all, and the more you let yourself do things imperfectly, the faster you get good at them. And with noticeably less stress/burnout.
Am bisexual. Can confirm.

Similarly, if someone starts merging into your side, sometimes moving ahead better avoids the sideswipe.
Every time I take a toll road I find myself wondering why they don't do this.
I think it comes down to the fact that people would avoid toll roads even more if they were also "everyone gets speeding tickets" roads.
For me, it wouldn't be that I count office co-workers as friends. It'd be that commuting to work means I'm already out of the house, which removes a major inertial barrier to other out-of-house activities.
"I could do X thing/see Y person on the way home" > "I have to put on pants to [X, Y]"

26.05.2025 23:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So somehow I might've handled a relational blip... like an adult? Who is aware of being a flawed being and is able to see and accept "flaws" in another person?
How'd I finally learn to do that?
Hey brain -- I'd really rather be using my energy to get shit done than having to piss it away resisting the urge to curl into a ball on the floor, thankyouverymuch.

The only 3 real ways to do hot dog are NY, Germany, and Chicago. The rest are for people who don't actually like hot dogs.

And may I humbly suggest totchoes? ie "What if nachos, but with tater tots instead of corn chips?"
Wait, like, they read audibly to themselves in their head? Instead of going straight from eyeballs to thoughts/emotions/images?
That seems inefficient and distant.
