Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first.

One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish.

Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my schoolโ€™s standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didnโ€™t diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I donโ€™t feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points.

We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Sorenโ€™s participation in the girlsโ€™ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are.

It Makes a Kind of Sense -- The Trump Tariff Tier List
YouTube video by vlogbrothers It Makes a Kind of Sense -- The Trump Tariff Tier List

This tariff fiasco is crazy on so many levels. So @hankgreen.bsky.social decided to rank them.

As much as there is to laugh at, stay till the end, because he does a good job breaking down why this is so serious.

Trumpโ€™s Damage to DOJ Will Be โ€˜Generational,โ€™ Former Pardon Attorney Says Read more here.

A recently-fired DOJ pardon attorney is speaking out against the damage the Trump administration is doing: "I think the department is bullying people into either stepping back or acquiescing to political priorities. And itโ€™s important, in my view, to stand up to a bully."

Gosh. If only there were an historical analogue we could study to learn about the horrors of rounding people up without due process and sending them to torture camps in other countries.

You can't just punch someone, even a nazi, in the jaw.

First you have to confirm the reason for their visit/admission does not have to do with the jaw, otherwise you have to punch them somewhere else.

Trumpโ€™s Attacks on DEI Get Approval From Some in the Left Wing Many Democrats and activists are rallying to defend diversity programs, but others say they distract from deeper efforts to address inequality.

i'll be blunt, if you are someone who is vocal about the ways that diversity efforts "divide the working class" but silent about the ways that *actual racism and discrimination* divide the working class, then i think you're just an opportunist
