sonic holds his hand out with his pinky extended. shadow pulls away, skeptical. then shadow scoffs, sonic whispers, "hey..." and shadow next gets defensive, asking, "fine, what is it?" to sonic, who is now smiling, completely fond and so in love with him.

sonic, eyes opening, says, "promise me you know i love you no matter what." and shadow's quills lower, eyes widening, the frustrated shade on his face turning into green blush, his eyes lighting up, but he doesn't respond yet.

shadow's ears flatten and he looks away, making a small "mm.." noise. sonic, sweating, tilting his head sheepishly says, "hey—y'know, you don't HAVE to-" but before he can finish, shadow reaches forward and links his pinky with sonic's. sonic perks, eyes lighting up, then he smiles fondly, while shadow looks away, flustered. he makes a small "hmp," noise, his turn to sweat now, and sonic just seems happy to be there.
