27.11.2024 09:48 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Can anyone recommend a simple way of adding captions to a video that can then be shared?
Have tried my usual ways but captions are always deleted after downloading. The irony that an accessibility tool isn't accessible!
Thanks in advance!

open.spotify.com/episode/3nDn...
Accessibility needs to be embedded into budgets from the beginning. When accessibility is seen as core rather than as an add-on, it makes things better for everyone.
21.11.2024 07:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Accessibility is constantly evolving. Donβt fall into the trap of thinking youβve learned it all. The needs of people with disabilities vary, and so do the tools and solutions available to meet those needs. Stay curious, stay humble.

All of our podcasts also come as a descriptive transcript. More than just a direct transcription of each word that was said, our descriptive transcripts describe how it was said.
The transcript for Sophie's identity episode can be found here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
If you haven't already listened to the incredible @sophievohra.bsky.social talk to @suryabowyer.com about identity in the latest episode of the Sensational Shorts podcast you absolutely should! It's 27mins of brilliance.

An infographic titled βHow To Write Alt Textβ featuring a photo of a capybara. Parts of alt text are divided by color, including identify who, expression, description, colour, and interesting features. The finished description reads βA capybara looking relaxed in a hot spa. Yellow yuzu fruits are floating in the water, and one is balanced on the top of the capybaraβs head.β Credit to Puzzle agency, original information from Veronica With Four Eyes and veroniiiica dot com
I think Iβve covered most of the content Iβve seen on BlueSky so farβ Iβll end this thread with a graphic from Puzzleβs #AccessAlt campaign, where they turned info from my first alt text post into a shareable graphic, complete with a capybara. Now youβre ready for the #AltTextChallenge! (10/10)
17.11.2024 22:18 β π 247 π 98 π¬ 20 π 13A screenshot of Bluesky's alt text reminder options. At the top of the page it says "Accessibility" then underneath there are two options for "Alt text" which are "Require alt text before posting" and "Display larger alt text badges." The first of these is toggled to "on." There's also a "Media" option which is "Disable autoplay for videos and GIFs."
19 million @bsky.app users? Better make sure they all know about the handy alt text reminder! π«‘
Go to Settings > Accessibility and make sure "Require alt text before posting" is toggled on.
We love that accessibility is such a priority here.
