Sharing Their Attitude immature Calliope Hummingbird captured by Z 8 / Z180-600 w/Z1.4x "How do you get those perched shots?" That's a great question and just requires a little bit of biology and a tad of technology. The photo begins without the camera. These little lightning bolts do hold still with each individual selecting a daytime perch (not the same as nighttime). Depending on their character and assumed placement in the feeder peaking order, they find an "observation point" to watch the activity.

We do tolerate them because at times, they are entertaining. In the springtime, we are pretty diligent to keep them out of birdhouses. As you can see here, even after placing a secondary baffle to resize the hole, this mom still chewed through enough to get in.

Quite the Characters! Acorn Woodpecker captured by Z 9 / Z180-600 w/Z2x They got their name from their storing vast quantities of Acorns that they feed on throughout the year. Hole trees appear to have been shot up by machine gun fire, but upon closer examination, you find they are holes filled with Acorns. Living in the western oak forests, they are in a colony, each with separate duties, from guard to raising the young.

It reminded me of a puff from a steam train engine. There are train tracks about a 1/2 mile away, so I started to bougie in their direction. Low Pass!! F-100 Super Sabre captured by Z 8 / Z24-70f2.8 Na, it's a plane on a stick at St Maries S72 airport. It's actually set up to be a weather vane, it indicates the direction of the wind! I still love to photograph planes on a stick. Generative Fill makes it soooooo easy to remove the "stick" that I find myself looking for them even more.

Benro Supadupa – Teaching Old Dog New Tricks Benro Supadupa Monopod & Benro TH62 Tilt Head I wanted to work Magee Marsh with the Z180-600 / Profoto A10 on a Monopod. I wanted the stability and ease for a long-term shoot while having as little of a footprint as possible. The Benro Supadupa was the obvious choice. Why obvious? With that name, how could I pass it up? Yes, its 62" height was part of it, weighing only 2lbs also part of it (it's carbon fiber), able to handle the Z600f4TC helped as well, but the main reason is its built-in fluid head.
