I just watched Sunderland's shock cup defeat to Port Vale - this is what went wrong Sunderland exited the FA Cup with a lethargic display against Port Vale this season

#SAFC have been brilliant this season but that was nowhere near good enough. Lack of intensity and then of quality - deservedly out.

Angulo been bright at times but Sunderland need more intensity and quality from forward players if they're going to get out of this game with a result

#SAFC right up against it at Port Vale and trail at the break.

They don't want to play through the middle in the conditions, but hosts very comfortable against long balls and the crosses into the box so far.

Competed well mostly but invited pressure from a corner and punished.

A complete non-event of a first half - which you suspect will suit a reshuffled #SAFC XI for now. They've protected Ellborg well, and he's been tidy when they needed to be.

Committed, organised display - albeit having shown little to nothing on the ball so far.

An emotional day saying farewell to the one and only George Forster.

Truly inspiring to see such a big turnout celebrating how much he brought people together - with some wonderful tributes from his closest friends.

RIP George.

#SAFC rewarded for a really good and positive start to the game. Le Fee should have had a pen and Mayenda, who has been excellent, took his chance well.

Bournemouth have come back strongly and Sunderland have needed Roefs to be good. Long way to go but good 45.
