I don't so much try to make enemies, as I stand up for what I believe whatever it costs me. & strangely enough, religious people (at least as groups) seem to hate people for that.

I love your characters.💙 Mireia & Kena's is 1 of the few romances I think I might enjoy, but sadly I'm just not in the place in life to be an ARC reader, right now.

It is what it is.🤷 This world is full of messed up stuff, & learning not to let it get to us in the wrong way is important.

It's also the most likely way to find true friends, not the Rider is seeking friends, or that he cares about "the right reason"

He doesn't care about morals, & frankly believes right & wrong are perversions used to control & enslave.

I'm not good at slapping people.🫣 Saying no, or standing up for my friends is the best I can manage.

Also, it's not particularly noblemen, & you can be hated just for preaching kindness, *especially* to religious people.

- *claimed* values more seriously than they do.

I don't disagree, but it's sometimes rough when it gets one hated by whole groups, & you *thought* some of those people were kind.

Sorry. I'm thinking about myself too much. I don't know how not to. I don't exactly think well of myself, but certain people don't like that I take their -

Okay, maybe not as many, but probably only because I'm not as noticed.

That said, after what he did, Gillindore would want desperately to condemn him to the worst magical torture conceivable.

So yeah, it's not just through his unwillingness to bow, but through the things he does, that he makes enemies. He doesn't take lightly to any form of- 2/3

Rider makes enemies almost everywhere he goes. He refuses to give respect, & won't even hide it to avoid suffering

He *can* try to blend in, which he does & succeeds at when he disguises himself as a servant.
Yes, he bows. He will do for those he loves what he'd never do -1/3

- hurt.
He's also the kind of person who's just too kind in the way that can get him hated by those who don't want to look bad, or feel bad about being selfish.

(Writing this is hard for me, so I hope I didn't leave out anything important.)

Lawcket doesn't so much rub people the wrong way, or act rude, but there are other ways to get hated.

He's defiant when given a reason to be. He will not stand by & watch others be mistreated, which gets him - 1/2

It's innate to how he feels about self dependence & other humans. He doesn't trust, in even the simplest ways, & he feels that those who are not friends should not act as though they are, even if the favors are repayed.
To give another food, or to eat what another gives, *should* be an intimate -

The ball chapter probably is the least romantic on in history, due to the dymanics of the crown prince selections...
At least Borlo isn't 'hungry' like that, but also close enough to reject her.

He has rather negative feelings about eating food he didn't gather/hunt & prepare, himself.
He will do it, but he won't appreciate it.

Of course, in reality Rider has never used money of any form, so he as lot of learning before he's ready to handle a restaurant.

Lawcket's there because someone else effectively forced it on him, so the choice is on them.

Rider's there as some kind of spy, so having to wait an hour is likely an upside, giving him more time to be around & appear bored while gathering information.
He has no interest in the food anyways.
