They want to pay us less so they can accrue more profit to themselves. They want us to feel precarious so we are captive to capitalist hierarchies instead of building our own sustainability. And they want to give us non-human villains to fight so we don't notice that it's them.

But I will be that annoying person to remind folks that talking about the tech itself is a red herring. There is something happening here. But it is cultural. We're under assault by people who are actively working to devalue human jobs.
