So, it turns out we're treating fascism just like we've been treating climate change:
– ignore warnings of experts
– buy into bullshit "alternative explanations"
- read "don't worry" media op-eds
– deny it will really be that bad
– start seeing major evidence
– hope somebody does something
We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Rep. RJ May (R, Lexington) is charged with 10 counts of distributing child sexual abuse material. Those charges carry a maximum 20-year prison sentence, with a minimum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He was arrested Wednesday in Lexington County.

This is an important observation. An authoritarian regime may be pushed from power, but the scars and stains it leaves behind last decades. Spain and Chile still live under the shadow of Franco and Pinochet and there are countless other examples.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.
