What's frankly disturbing about this is how conservatives want to waste time and effort on such an issue, and how they're so obsessed with the genitalia of people with whom they're not romantically involved, or treating as a patient. Besides, many transgender women don't have penises!

Well, we can agree to disagree. I'm not saying chromosomes have no effect at all, but I believe the importance is exaggerated. In my opinion, androgens, and a person's androgen receptors' ability to respond to androgens, is more important than the presence or absence of the Y chromosome.

The question is where do we draw the line? As long as the line is drawn based on current hormone levels and whether a person has even gone through puberty. Not on chromosomes, what letter was on a birth certificate, or what someone's genitals look like, none of which affect athletic performance.

IMHO, even if you completely disregard the fact that HRT changes body composition and musculature, and that many transgirls have never gone through male puberty, even cisgender people are vastly different in their physiques. I think maybe sports should be divided by builds, first of all. 🤔

No, they didn't much, but unfortunately the alternative was, and is, so outrageously anti-trans that not mentioning transgender people at all is preferrable. I say that as someone with skin in the game. An imperfect candidate is leagues better than what we've ended up with, I'm afraid. 🤮
