Reeeaaaallly hope the anti-kink kids, especially the queer ones, finally understand what camp they are in (it's fascism), and how it's bad for everyone but the actual abusers.

Panel 1: Two swans, floating on a water, very swan-ily.

P2: Same POV, but now the swans have raised their wings.

P3: Again, same POV, but now the wings are fully up, and the swans' necks are lowered and extended.

P4: GO! The swans shoot forward at speed, leaving trails of water in their wake. Their necks are fully extended, beaks open.

P5: A side-on view of water against a green sky.

P6: Same POV, but now the swans have burst into view. However, the only thing moving --at tremendous speed-- are their necks, stretching out impossibly.

P7: We close in on a side-on view of the swans' heads, beaks closed in a look of swan-y determination. They are literally neck & neck.

P8: The background begins to swirl as the swans pick up speed. They spiral towards the centre from the upper left & lower right corners.

P9: A dramatic reveal of a Jack Kirby-like cosmic scene, with a blazing sun in the bottom right corner, and a "krackle" filled purple sky. The swans' necks spiral around each other

defending art's right to exist, especially nsfw art, inherenetly involves you having to allow art you don't like or even think is abhorrent or reprehensible to exist. you do not have to pretend to like it or engage with it, but you need to let it exist. you give fascists an inch they take a mile.

Black woman wearing white cardigan, corset, gloves and pearls posing with a white Mal wearing a leather harness and cap on a crowded downtown city street. Text: [Sometimes we are consciously aware that exclusion is a bad thing, and we may deny that it is taking place within our feminist or queer circles. We may even resort to tokenismβ€”pointing to one or a few minority members in order to make the case that our movement or community is truly diverse. But in other cases, we are blatantly exclusive. Some feminists vocally condemn other feminists for dressing too femininely, or because of the sexual partners or practices they take up. More mainstream gays decry the presence of drag queens and leather daddies in their pride parades, and there is a long history of lesbians and gay men who outright dismiss bisexual, asexual, and transgender identities. Within the transgender and bisexual umbrellas, there are constant accusations that certain individuals do not qualify as β€œreal” members of the group, or that their identities or actions somehow reinforce β€œthe gender binary” (i.e., the rigid division of all people into two mutually exclusive genders). And in most queer communities, regardless of one’s sex or identity, people who are more masculine in gender expression are almost always viewed as more valid and attractive than their feminine counterparts.]

Quote from Excluded: Making Feminist and Queer Movements More Inclusive by Julia Serano (2013). Photo of the New York Pride Parade (1980s) from the Randy Sauder and Gary DeNichilo collection at the LA&M.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

[FTM 15 In Memoriam April 1991. Two services were held for Louis Sullivan on Friday, March 15, 1991. One was a large service held at the Neptune Society Columbarium. However, and earlier service for approximately twenty people was also arranged aboard a small double tiered boat which departed from Pier 40 in San Francisco.

The boat service was powerful precisely because Lou had planned all of the details himself. He had requested a party and a celebration in which his ashes would be scattered in the San Francisco bay. Indeed most everyone felt Lou's presence, and an intermingling sensation that this was the way he wanted things done....]

Lou Sullivan was a visionary gay trans activist, writer, speaker, and organizer who advocated for the recognition of gay trans people.

A photo of a trio of my Peep Rex figures. They are fluffy TRex chicks colored in blue, pink, and yellow. They sit on a wooden floor with a backdrop of Easter grass and pastel eggs. A closeup of the back of my blue Peep Rex showing the sugary coating.

Peep Rex - fluffy little friends for Easter 🐣 These chicks will sneak into candy baskets to steal treats. They have a sugary coating on their backs to fool the human eye. Preorder one now for a limited time! I will also have some stock at LVFC in April.

Magnificent giant soft green moth with 4 eye spots and long twisty "tail", at rest with wings spread on the side of a pine

Luuuuuuuuuunaaaaaa πŸ’š

Few local creatures stop me in my tracks like this, just the sheer size and soft colors and markings. Like, welp, day instantly better.

A photo collage portrait of a bobwhite quail, put together from photos of my glasses, sweater, and ascot. Textures applied are from photographs of the concrete wall behind me currently. No AI was used, fuck AI forever. Play with photographs like paper dolls, like a real human being.

I deleted the thread on emotional crash outs because I can say it more succinctly like this:

Check on your emotionally reserved friends. A lot of us don't express distress openly and many people mistake that for invulnerability or hypercompetence. I find that especially true among trans people.

Coffee bags, one is Tom of Finland with a Tom of Finland image on it. The other is Moomin with a Moomin leaning on a blueberry. More details: in the photograph of two "Art Roast" coffee bags on the shelf of a store with prices in euros. One of the bags is large and black and says HEAVY DUTY dark roast coffee beans, exclusive blend by Robert [I can't read it, it's in script]. The other is blue and says Blueberry coffee.

ah yes, the two genders

if you're not freaky you will die. you will die on the inside. your friends can be there all you want but their words and hugs will never truly reach you if you're hiding yourself inside of yourself all the time. if you have any respect for yourself, you have to stop treating yourself like that.

you should even get weirder about that one thing. yes. i'm not kidding. the world is going to shit. most of you are experiencing an active fascist takeover. the status quo won't save you. boxing yourself in for clout and clicks won't save you. brutal honesty will save you. your friends will save you

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
