A work-in-progress drawing in iron gall ink in a style evocative of medieval manuscripts. A bearded man holds a bow in one hand and a smoking arrow in the other hand. The page is ornamented with oak leaves. A selection from the Luttrell Psalter (1330s) featuring an archer.

Drawing my D&D ranger in the style of this archer from the Lutrell Psalter cuz I have been practicing Drawing For Fun this week (after rapid finishing like 4 huge projects between Jan/Feb and feeling dead inside for two days πŸ™ƒ).

βš”οΈGuys, what if we paid our authors 12c/word and triple base pay per illustration for our artists? What if we gave Canucks $10 USD off shipping and everybody else outside the US $20 off?

If you know anybody who might enjoy a red hot Sword & Sorcery magazine, please let them know before 12pm Sat!🀘

A photograph of a fresh tattoo. The tattoo is a very dark looking Medusa with pythons for hair. She is pierced and her ears are gauged and she is looking very intently at the viewer

Had a BLAST tattooing this Medusa today πŸ™Œ

From Alec Worley's "The Jagged Gates" featured in New Edge Sword & Sorcery Issue 6. An illustration in black and white ink depicting a strong woman with shark-like black eyes and sharp teeth about to claw at an enemy. From June Orchid Parker's A SERPENT FROM THE ASH, featured in New Edge Sword & Sorcery Issue #4. An illustration in black ink featuring a strong blonde woman holding a sword standing in front of an empty doorway, staring down the viewer. From June Orchid Parker's HOW MANY DEATHS TIL VENGEANCE, featured in New Edge Sword & Sorcery Issue #2. An illustration in black ink depicting a strong blonde woman clutching a blood-coated axe and leaning back against a similarly blood spattered wall. In the hall beyond, a serving woman who has just dropped a jug of wine gasps.

To celebrate @newedgeswordmag.bsky.social being within reach of editor Oliver's wildest dreams (providing triple pay for artists πŸ‘€)with just 48 hours left...

Three of my illustrations from three different NESS issues. (Two @breadsonja.bsky.social 's Astartha, the other @agentofweird.bsky.social's )

A delicate watercolor painting of a young unicorn laying in the grass. Two swords are crossed on the ground in front of it, and it appears to have been somehow branded with a thorny crest on it's hip.

My absolute favorite of the four Page Overlay illustrations I painted to go along with LitJoy's upcoming edition of The Thorn Queen by Sasha Peyton Smith.

A watercolor painting depicting three friends dancing at a faerie revel. A watercolor painting of a radiant blonde-haired figure, wrapped in vines. She has white flowers in her hair.

Two endpaper illustrations I painted for LitJoy's upcoming edition of The Thorn Queen (by Sasha Peyton Smith)!

An interpretation of the Arthurian legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, in which the knight is seduced by both Lord and Lady Bertilak. Here we see the knight in between the couple, head tilted back, eyes closed, as Lord Bertilak wraps a large hand around his neck and presses in close from behind. Lady Bertilak is pulling off his green belt with one hand, and reaching below to undo the lacing on his pants with another. The knight’s visible hand squeezes Lady Bertilak’s thigh tightly. A young woman in armor looks over her shoulder, sword in hand, ready to fight. Her one visible eye glows with a golden light. She stands in front of a stained glass sunrise, ready to chase away the darkness. A young woman with reddish blond hair in a Victorian updo sits in an intricately carved stone throne. She looks with a mocking smirk at the viewer, and an elegant silver crown dangles from one hand. Monstrous hands with long black nails reach from behind the throne, and are scoring deep gouges into the stone.

Good afternoon Bluesky!

It's my 35th birthday today (!!!) and I'd love to request likes and reposts of some of my favorite pieces πŸ’šπŸ’š

under-loved trans rights readathon recs: novella edition

under the titles are the cover images for six books. they are:
Pluralities by Avi Silver
Tentacle by Rita Indiana
Sordidez by E.G. CondΓͺ
Queens of Noise by Leigh Harlen
These Fragile Graces, This Fugitive Heart by Izzy Wasserstein
The Transitive Properties of Cheese by Ann LeBlanc

Day two of my under-loved #TransRightsReadathon recommendations is OBVIOUSLY about small press novellas! Because what could be more satisfying during a readathon than a stack of novellas?

A grid of six illustrations. First, a trans woman in traditional Jewish clothing does embroidery outside. Second, a Korean couple kisses, with the one in men's clothing showing in the mirror as her true transfemme self. Third, a Polish gay couple wear traditional clothing, one of which is transmasc. Fourth, a transmasc person with his chest bound in cloth gets a hand-poked tattoo on a sailing ship. Fifth, a T4T Victorian couple share a kiss on the nose as they find euphoria in swapping their clothing. And lastly, a transmasc person sews his own clothing, reclaiming the traditionally feminine craft for himself.

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ Trans joy and resilience is more important than ever. Here’s a glimpse into a few of the historical illustrations of trans people thriving, loving, and being loved in our queer history art book! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

A graphic with a large yellow banner in the middle announcing "Live on Kickstarter! We've Always Been Here: A queer historical zine." The bottom text is in a rainbow gradient with little rainbows framing the box. Above this is a mockup of the book's cover alongside some page mockups, and the bottom half features three other illustration previews. An official graphic from Kickstarter that says "Project We Love: Kickstarter" in white text on a black background, with a green decorative circle. In the middle is a pale red heart.

"We've Always Been Here" has been featured by Kickstarter as a #ProjectWeLove !! And we're only one week into the campaign! 🌈

Devouring Fortune book cover. Features a woman with folded arms on the cover. Her arms are crossed. She has straight black hair and her skin is light brown. She has a haunted expression. She is dressed in a white priestess outfit with wrapped bandages up her arms. Behind her lurks a monstrous skeleton whispering in her ear. They are surrounded by red flowers.

I'm happy to say today is the day for the book cover reveal of DEVOURING FORTUNE! @jeleynai.bsky.social did an incredible job on the illustration, I'm in awe.

For fans of Tanith Lee and A.K. Larkwood, about bargains gone wrong.
