orange man was right, if this is winning, I am indeed tired of it
Back to sleep after the early morning Tycho ritual of:
"Dad let me outside"
"Need to chew on my toy for a bit"
"now im thirsty"
"need to patrol the downstairs three times now"
"Nothing unusual gonna lay back down in my crate"
"Im comfy and sleepy goodnight"
"Hey wait can you turn my fan on"
snoring
I think ive gotten pretty lucky that mine is eager to please and listens...eventually
I try to avoid rewarding whenever the leash is taut, and generally on a walk being able to go forward in itself is a reward, so I stop the walk if he pulls, try and make him sit, and then when he's polite we resume walking. If he's being especially pully, you stop and reverse directions
I do a couple things, #1 is I carry a treat pouch with me that has training treats and whenever he is walking beside me in a heel and checking in (where he turns his head to look at you), I mark the behavior and reward him. This creates a "reward zone" in their brain to always stay at your side
100% recommend putting in all the effort it takes to get your dogs able to walk on a loose leash. It makes walks so much more enjoyable and relaxing for both you and the pupper. I still give him plenty of time to pause, sniff, and take in the sights, but I never let him self reward with pulling.
Two nearly perfect loose leash walks with Tycho today, including a successful "leave it" for a squirrel that darted in front of us, sitting at crosswalks waiting for "cross" to begin moving again, and staying in a heel while I chatted with a neighbor at a distance.
Things are starting to click. π₯°
Onto his knees I shall put him.
anotha one
SubscribeStar is banning artistic depictions of anything non human with the determining factor being the alignment of the knee lol
You've seen the weather outside, right?
Even everyday folks and furs who are into things that are borderline taboo but constantly reiterate they haven't crossed the line of fantasy to reality, "I'm into this but I'm not one of the bad ones", subconsciously express their guilt
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Seen it too often.
My puppy begs for pizza slices worse than @lukehusky.bsky.social
Big agree. Sitting on the patio in the backyard with the dog after work has been so good.
Any chance of a MFY bandana for the doggo? π
Took Tycho into the vet this morning to get weighed to see if he needed the next dosage up of his flea/tick medication and have a lump looked at.
The lump is just a benign fatty cyst and he weighs 83.4 pounds. The vet updated her projection on his adult size to 120lbs.
Gonna need a bigger car.
You're gay?
I don't think I'm good at many things and theres hardly anything I'm proud of myself for.
But, I am damn proud of myself at how good I've gotten at reading Tycho's body language and demeanor. He may not be able to speak English, but he does communicate and I'm glad I've learned to understand how.
He's my assistant branch manager.
Playing fetch in the backyard with my dog after work is honestly the best.
Happy birthday Apollo!
you're always a gay little cat in my mind
Hoping your health improves and irl stuff gets easier dude, your art is always well worth the wait!
Wearing my @madefuryou.com hoodie out to lunch today to flex on the normies.
Wakes up from a nap, sprints over to me and licks my hand then lays down beside me to go back to sleep.
Yeah, I think he likes me.
One of my favorite TV shows, it's where my puppy's name is from!
My dog's brain:
"Oh I'm thirsty there is water in this bowl"
"But what, what if it's not really water? I need to splash my paws in it four or five times to make sure it's water"
"Wow! It's water, as I suspected, now I will drink"
π
on my way
And some sort of cooling vest like a fursuiter haha
It's 58*F out and humid and Tycho started to rush to get back home halfway through his usual walk.
Buddy you are so not ready for the hell that is summer.
