I do this! It *feels* like you should stop at the end of a scene or something, but stopping in the middle makes it easier to sit down and write that first word tomorrow, and often that's the hardest part.

Yeah, my players have done a lot more negotiating and "chasing away" of baddies than the game expected. Luckily I'm awarding levels by story milestone so I don't have to fret over how to calculate xp, haha!

TIL that "axe" was the ORIGINAL pronunciation of "ask." It literally comes from some Old English word where the k sound came before the s sound, and somewhere along the way we randomly switched it.

Also the big dumb ginger human warrior guy and the pretty little innocent pedantic elf wizard guy are pretty much officially a couple now and it is the cutest darn thing I have ever seen. They're like, getting up a little earlier than everyone else to have tea together and buying each other stuff 😭

I mess up the rules and it's whatever. I drop a little hint of something with a note they find or a peculiar visitor at a minor NPC's house and they turn into the Red String Gif Guy for twenty minutes. It's so gratifying.

I made a lil world and they pretend it's REAL.

I think I am doing a pretty good job for my first time DMing, but if I had your usual players I'd have quit by now. These MFers are ~roleplayers.~ They disappear into this world for 3 hours every Sunday and they *care* about it so hard.

So, last night in DnD my players found out that the cousin of one of my player characters was dead.

The weight of the silence that followed, man.

This guy has never even appeared onstage. Player anecdotes only.

This group is a ~dream~ to DM for. They are so ~invested.~
