Makes science TV shows for a living and still cant believe it's a real job. Draws pinup, mixes cocktails and mucks about on bikes for fun. Significantly cooler thanks to AC. He/Him

07.10.2025 23:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's all very depressing but short of massive funding increases across the NHS, Police and CPS I dont see a end end son.
07.10.2025 21:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Shop staff (ie not store security) have long since been told not to stop suspected shoplifters. The amount lost to shoplifting is deemed to be less than how much they would have to pay out to staff for injuries in the line of work. Police rarely get involved as they know CPS wont touch it.
07.10.2025 21:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When they do the punishment is often in the form of a fine and an exclusion order. Shoplifter dont really care about either. Eventually they will get a jail sentence but given their reasons for stealing have often remained they just go back to stealing.
07.10.2025 21:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As for the other side, CPS just doesnt have the staff to handle petty crime. Unless the shoplifter has "gone equipped", ie foil lined bags to fool tag scanners etc, and has stolen less than Β£150, cps wont prosecute.
07.10.2025 21:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0IT makes it hard for them to get much less hold down a job. Anyone telling you that dealing with such addiction issues is easy is sadly lying to you. Especially given the defunding of the NHS and its mental health and substance abuse recovery schemes.
07.10.2025 21:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Vitamin tablets, for instance, are a a high value target for shoplifters as they get sold to dealers to cut drugs with. Food items like could be found in iceland will be sold at the local sketchy pub to fund drugs or alcohol.
Many shoplifters have issues with mental health and rough histories.
I got exposed to both sides of the story when filming a 2 series about this. Whilst I dont claim to have any solutions I do know it's a lot more complicated than is expected at first thought.
Many "career shoplifters" are trapped in a cycle of addiction, not much of it is stolen for personal use.
ups the fat content too which really helps with a chilli. It's really easy to get the water/fat content ratio out of whack

I think it's because Ive seen a bunch of punisher Christmas jumpers before. Sure this is printed (I have a rule Christmas jumpers should have the pattern knitted in)and its October, but the hair is just weird

Seems fitting, the George Cross is the flag of some guy that was from what is now modern day Turkey after all.
Not small Irony given the brexit voting flag shaggers did so because of, amongst other things, their wish to stop Turkish people coming here if they got EU membership.
There is nothing quite like batting a new #skate trick and suddenly solving the puzzle in your head. Everything clicks and something that felt sketchy now is just so obvious. Pure dopamine rush.
