I'm unsurprised bc on the complete opposite end, I only started drawing bc I was at my lowest emotionally after The Trauma.
And it's been a weird thinking point considering: man, if that didn't happen, I would not have found this hobby and while I love it, I would give it all up to undo it still.
All that said, I think 3 is a perfectly fine title to jump straight into. Maybe arguably a better starting point since 2 is way more mechanically layered. 3 has the decency to give you training wheels that are maybe better for beginners. And the story's BEEN whatever, so.
I do think the open world does scratch a new itch that 2 didn't.
But I also feel like it undercuts itself by going back to instanced levels again via scrolls. Instancing and revisiting select areas IS good, but I just don't think to dig through the UI and do them like I do the map.
I am having a really good time in Nioh 3, but I am frequently being reminded, man, I was having a GREAT time in Nioh2.
Turning into a demon yourself, or literally any of the demons you fight just *ECLIPSES* turning into a ninja with a less fleshed out moveset that's more 1-note in its game plan.
