Belongingness was also associated with higher mental wellbeing and lower levels of depression and anxiety symptoms, particularly in young people aged 16-25.
This week is a good opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments, both big and small, with friends, family and colleagues.
Dr Fisher identified that having a frequent sense of accomplishment was very strongly associated with mental wellbeing in both youth and middle-aged adults. It was also associated with lower levels of depression and anxiety symptoms, particularly in adults in their 40s and 50s.
