I’m still early into Clair Obscur and I can confidently say the game is absolutely beautiful, intriguing and musically haunting. HOWEVER, whoever decided there should be platforming and whoever programmed that platforming? Those people can fuck right off. :D

I think the issue is JPRG was likely from a time when we didn't get a lot of imports so the industry tried to find a way to distinguish east RPGs from west. These days you could make the argument that JRPG just means it draws influence in systems and features not necessarily in locale and theme.
