Speaking recently at @Soc_of_Authors launch of the Author Care toolkit...It's a tough industry. The toolkit encourages much needed dialogue, between authors & agents, publishers, publicists. No simple solutions, but honesty & an understanding of constraints- on both sides- helps.

Playing in a match for the Authors XI versus an Artists XI on the weekend I was intrigued by this bat wielded by one of our opponents. He said it was a century old! I have to say, at times, running around in the field, I felt older than the bat. (For the record: Authors won.)

The final @CrimeFest (for now) is another warm and welcoming affair. I've been coming for a decade and I know I won't be the only one who will miss it.

Ouch. I feel seen. Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul Fame hits the nail on the head. He plays a miserable author/college professor in Lucky Hank. A rather excellent one season gem.
