Halfway into October and I want to ask-
what is the most memorable Halloween from your childhood or youth? It could be chilling, creepy funny (or traumatic) memories...did you encounter ghosts, ghouls, something else?

I have time for most of the straight-to-video/dvd sequels too, they all have some interesting or entertaining elements in them. Of the later ones I really like Hellraiser:Judgement and the recent reboot/remake.
12.10.2025 13:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Personally, always difficult to choose between first and second. The second wouldn't exist or make sense without the first. But then I really enjoy the third even though it went a little more Hollywood dumb action fx horror but still good script. Also really like Bloodline while it was a mess.
12.10.2025 13:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Awesome. My Dad rented it for me when I was a kid, then I had the vhs followed by the dvd etc. Love it.

New films/books/other
Had a great time seeing some epic prog metal from Blood Incantation, who played their new acclaimed 70s prog inspired album in full (Very Floyd/Tangerine Dream/ELP) along with the great dark psychedelic doom soundscapes of Oranssi Pazuzzi and Sijiin with their more regular trad/death metal tunes.
09.10.2025 11:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You still need fear fiction for the countdown to Halloween 2025?
Yeah, my books are out there in the world. Witches, demons, ghosts and more feature...
Find them at amazon, Barnes&Noble or even actual real and indie bookshops near you now. Paper & ebook.
Ah, I'm missing Lady Gaga here in Manchester. Bad decision. Would love to see her live. Maybe next time. I'm a little monster too, Lady! @ladygaganow.net
Right in Spooktober spooky month too.
Are you seeing her this week/this tour?
Check this out! My new trade book from Morehouse Publishing is up for pre-order, releasing October 13. Pre-orders can make a huge difference as to whether a title gets picked up or not. I'm really excited to share this new work. www.churchpublishing.org/scaredbytheb...

Yes, same here. Not the first horror I read but with his literary style I can return over and over and still be satisfied. First I read Weaveworld near the end of highschool-blew my mind. Then later Damnation Game, Books Of Blood, then all the rest.
05.10.2025 20:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A happy birthday to the legendary Mr. Clive Barker. Huge influence on my own creative output.
Will be reading some Books Of Blood today.
If you're a fan, which of his books/films/artworks do you love most?
Interesting... :)

05.10.2025 18:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Here we are in horror month.
Are you set to read certain books or watch specific horror movies in the weeks ahead?
any you haven't read or seen before?
or returning to old classics or personal favourites?
Manufacturers/Companies these days probably thinking about the cost & expensive of lots of intricate details and materials but that sometimes made much more fun and memorable. The magnets were great for space imagination.
(I guess also health&safety standards now too)
We are in October. Let's get into the fear fiction and here are 4 of my own in the sleepless night leading up to Halloween-if you dare...
amazon, Barnes&Noble or even from real and local indie bookshops now. Paperback/ebook
And in this way (among others) horror is beautiful.

24.09.2025 17:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My latest (folk) horror novel The Briggar Stone was published almost one year ago. If you want a tale of mysterious deaths, rituals, creatures and more try this for the weeks leading up to Halloween...
Amazon, Barnes&Noble or even real bookshops near you now.
Best Halloween merch or display you've seen so far?
come on, cheer me up with this...
I'm seeing more Christmas than Halloween when I'm out and about folks. This is wrong. Almost one month until Halloween, get it everywhere, come on shops! Spook it all up!
(Bookshops I'm looking right at you first...)
