One of the most overqualified casts in history.

By the time Amy Adams shows up 45 minutes in as a hippie mom I had lost all sense of reality.

One of my passions is finding the single funny moment in otherwise terrible comedies.

For example, this single Charlies Grodin reaction in the completely memory holed 2007 Zach Braff comedy THE EX.

Week 8 of losing my entire summer to herniated discs and I'm truly alarmed how much Todd Solondz movies and Frightened Rabbit songs are appealing to me.

Stuck inside on a couch with excruciating back pain, deciding if I should watch MARGARET or SON OF THE MASK.

Do I wallow in grace or my own filth?

Anyway, Happy 4th!

PRO TIP: Not every great idea will fit the script you’re writing but always jot them down for future projects!

I Feel Like I've Been Here Forever - Local Hero (1983) | BW/DR Bill Forsyth’s 1983 masterpiece Local Hero is perhaps the greatest film ever made about attuning to the frequency of a place.

"Bill Forsyth’s 1983 masterpiece LOCAL HERO is perhaps the greatest film ever made about attuning to the frequency of a place, of someone fitting in when and where they least expected."

"I saw the moon when we were out there on the ocean. Shining down on everything. I've been miserable for so long. Years of my life wasted. For you. Been a long time comin' here to meet you. A long time, on a crooked road."

Released on this day in 1990, Joe Versus the Volcano.

Sex, Love and Pickles: Amy Irving, Peter Riegert and Susan Sandler on "Crossing Delancey" | Interviews | Roger Ebert The writer-director and stars Amy Irving and Peter Riegert reflect on the wistful romance of the 1988 classic.

It was an honor to talk about the new @Criterion release of CROSSING DELANCEY, the legacy of director Joan Micklin Silver -- and yes, pickles -- with screenwriter Susan Sandler, star Amy Irving, and the pickle man himself Peter Riegert for @ebertvoices.bsky.social

I saw the girl on the left, Lindsey, perform at a Star Gardens (Unionized NoHo strip club) benefit show a year or so ago.

To see her on the stage with the rest of the ANORA cast and crew filled me with legit glee.

What a wonderful night!
