The mythos surrounding DDL isn’t exactly incorrect, and it isn’t unearned, but I personally find it quite amusing. He lived in a small town adjacent to my own for decades, shopped in our tiny grocery store, and at the Mohicans-fueled zenith of his fame, frequented the restaurant where my mom worked.
