junge Welt Abonnement Malgré les preuves accablantes documentant les crimes israéliens, malgré l'horreur manifeste de leur ampleur et de leur brutalité, les Israéliens n'ont jamais véritablement subi de conséquences. Plus un crime reste impuni, plus on a l'impression qu'il n'en est peut-être pas un. En effet, des avocats israéliens soutiennent que les actions de leur État sont légales, et certains experts juridiques américains et européens, ainsi que des gouvernements occidentaux, les appuient dans cette position; de cette manière, un crime peut, avec le temps, devenir loi. Ajoutez à cela le soutien de l'armée américaine, la complicité ou la défaite de la quasi-totalité des autres forces armées conventionnelles de la région, et le déséquilibre extrême des armements et des capacités entre l'armée israélienne et la résistance palestinienne, et un sentiment d'invincibilité vient s'ajouter au sentiment d'innocence. Ce dernier imprègne une société fondée sur l'anéantissement du collectif palestinien, dont l'existence même exige une violence constante contre les autres, internes comme externes, afin d'assurer la domination ethnique. Parce que la dynamique du colonialisme de peuplement conduit inévitablement à la violence, chaque crime impuni prépare le terrain pour le suivant, qui sera encore plus radical. C'est le cycle de l'impunité.
