This set of Ottoman-era data visualizations from Cerîde-i Adliyye, “The Justice Gazette,” a Ministry of Justice publication printed in Türkiye in the mid 20s are absolutely bonkers. Infographics mania!

yeah, i’ve been checking his account for a msg periodically :/
Was skimming bandcamp radio shows and heard this one and fell in love instantly, played by GENA (Kareem Riggins & Liv.E) who also happen to have a fantastic album out. nebasolobenegodiakite.bandcamp.com/album/a-djin...
Aziz Balouch left Pakistan for Iberia in 1932. Raised on Islamic Sufi devotional songs in Sindh, he fell for flamenco's 'deep song' and apprenticed under Pepe Marchena. Released by the inimitable Death is not the End label. deathisnot.bandcamp.com/track/granaina
hot damn! very timely! i thought this was an old muslimgauze era experimentation but it's 2026 and coming out on Constellation, wow.

yes brother it WAS you!
I nicked it from someone from bsky I think, but couldn't find it via search. Sorry / Enjoy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1hx...
I'm not sure, normally I think it's the other way around (from Indian > Persia). I'm sure there's some kind of dialectic back and forth, though. In this case though Watan is coming from Arabic to Persian. Also Turkish too (we use the same spelling "Vatan" to denote Mother/Fatherland).
What a heartbreaking song: Ey Vatan Iran (O! Homeland/Motherland Iran). I can't say I understand the lyrics because I don't speak Farsi, It might have some nationalistic ones, but I feel more the sentiments of "yearning, saudade, seperation, diaspora, gurbet etc.) I hope I'm right :D
I'm doing a short 1 hr Iran playlist / mix but unfortunately half of the songs I picked aren't available on DSPs. I think I'll have to mix it, which will postpone it, because I don't have the time to do it tonight. (Gala vs Liverpool game!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lYC...
This flag is concentrated Discourse.
.. unfortunately he died of pancreatic cancer, and didn't get any punishment for his economic atrocities, and polarising politics, which 80 million people are suffering from still, and Erdogan is still in power :/
Reminded me of this journalist in Turkey, who defected to Erdogan's side, and ended up being a radical advisor to him with fringe economical and general ideas (like telekinesis attacks etc.) There's an anatomic similarity to these breed of utter swindlers. Bash his face in (ours is dead & rotting).
NEW: Is this the broligarchy’s first world war? AI, like war & rape, is a hyper-masculine fantasy of God-like power, a myth at the dark heart of what we’re seeing play out in the Gulf. This war hasn’t replaced the Epstein scandal. It is the Epstein scandal.

Warmth and Laura Cannell @lauracannellmusic.bsky.social for a drony morning ^^.
Finally pushback against that loser pig Merz & at the hands of the original German Turk MP Cem Ozdemir, the first of his kind. Germany have been the poorest performers in terms of the US/Israeli aggression managing to be on the wrong side twice in 100 years.

Last week's most listened as per last.fm. @rutherfordmatt.bsky.social I've listened and liked the new Bill Callahan and Sleaford Mods albums, but my favourite from your list is Searows. I'll dive deeper into that this week.

The above is my war-cost counter. Rising roughly a billion dollars a day, thousands every second.
This is where our tax dollars go. Instead of healthcare, housing, infrastructure, education.
Current cost of the war, March 8, 2026:
March 8, 2026 - Tehran at sunrise today. But the sun is hidden behind a sky filled with smoke. After a night of intensive strikes on oil facilities, thick black clouds now hang over the city, turning morning into something that feels like night.
It's extremely clear that the US doesn't really have an objective here except to inflict maximum pain, and attacking water supply is going to end catastrophically for the entire region. It's not just a war crime, it's approaching a crime against humanity.
That segment from 30-35 mins or so... <3
Rolling Stone is publishing pro-war advertorials by an Israeli government agent now:
Full performance of Raphael Roginski playing his album live.

Unfortunately, his hopes are also crushed as Argentina has been subsumed, Venezuela annexed, and Chiapas (more like Jalisco) is burning.
A plague on Donald’s house!
I know he turned out to be a paedo in the end but Hakim Bey’s Jihad Revisited has some good takes on the USA/Islamism thing that has been going on since basically all our lives:
