Now is probably a good time to point out that renewable energy is sovereign energy. It is not dependent on others, cannot be torpedoed in a narrow strait by a desperate regime, and isn’t beholden to global power games.
It also doesn’t heat the planet up and doesn’t, generally, drive wars.

Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and Halifax apps showed customers other users' transactions The Lloyds Banking Group customers reported being able to view payments and charges from other sources.

The fines they have to pay because of this should be truly enormous.

It is time displays of Nazi support, including certain slogans e.g. “Sieg Heil”, “Heil Hitler”, displays of Nazi imagery, icons and flags, and the Hitlergruß gesture were made specifically illegal in the UK.
Freedom of speech does not include the right to glorify this vile ideology.

Hegseth convicted himself when he announced there would be no rules of engagement.
Crimes have been committed here, as they have in Putin’s aggression against Ukraine.
The perpetrators must be brought to justice, regardless of who they are.

“Brexit didn’t stop British people travelling in Europe.

But it made living a European life far more complicated.”

Homes, jobs, businesses, families and communities now have borders running straight through them.

Thank heavens Trump is winning this war so bigly.
I’d hate to see what losing would look like.

“Freedom of Movement didn’t just make travel easier. It made life bigger.”

It meant opportunities didn’t stop at the border.

Study. Work. Fall in love. Start a business.

For millions of Britons, that possibility quietly disappeared after Brexit.

Quite the thread.

Also wrong about Brexit which the DUP saw as a means to harden the border in Ireland. Even that backfired.
As is so often the case with these people, wrong about practically everything, practically all the time.

Foster ran the 2012 launch of a green energy scheme that allowed participants to "burn to burn," leading to an estimated £400 million overspend. She refused to step aside during the investigation, contributing to the collapse of the NI executive in 2017.

With pedigree like that, best ignored now.

Brexiter Arlene Foster who now sits in the House of Lords wants to cut welfare support and spend the money on defence instead

Brexit costs the UK £90 billion in lost tax income every year,if we didn't have Foster's Brexit we could keep supporting those in need while also ramping up defence spending

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Those in power who argue against the Green revolution are choosing chaos and suffering

Achieving UK’s net zero target by 2050 will cost less than a single oil shock & bring health and economic benefits while insulating the country against future costs, the govt’s climate advisers have forecast

Also. Don’t forget Russia is involved here, aiding and abetting Iran with the full knowledge of Trump.
Watch Russia carefully.

Trump has several times claimed he has all but won the war that he chose to start.
One might measure that success by the ability of shipping to pass through Hormuz.
One must also measure the cost in human lives, on ships and the thousands of innocents who have died on land.

Operation Epic Fail.

Hereditary peers to be removed from Lords as bill passes The bill abolishes the 92 seats reserved for peers who inherit their titles through their families.

But not all of them, a deal had to be done as the Tories again dug their heels in.
The Lords is fundamentally broken and should be replaced with a Senate. This is unfinished business, again

Republicans are working overtime to make it as hard as possible for you to vote. Because they know that they and their policies are deeply unpopular and the only way for them to win is to double down on cheating.

34th Rule of Acquisition applies.

Flippancy?

Comparing the big man to a comically-written, 2 dimensional, greedy, avaricious orange-skinned alien with suspicious ears?

Quark had more scruples in his left lobe, frankly.

Ish…
Power is relative after all.
In 1946, with the US the only nuclear power and having achieved hegemony, yes.
This is no longer quite true and it is a risky conceit to have in today’s world.
Having said that, Uncle Sam having the world’s most powerful military is better than Uncles Xi or Vlad.

Some of the longstanding questions of humanity.

Are we alone in the universe?

Is this all that we are?

Is there a god?

At least one has been answered:

What happens if you put a gaggle of clueless morons in charge of the world’s most powerful military?

It goes some way to explain what is happening.

Having demonstrated Iran would be better off with nuclear weapons at their disposal to threaten the US and Israel with, Trump’s actions have now put in place a leader who will do whatever he can to acquire such weapons, and who has literally nothing to lose in so doing.
If he lives long enough.
