If one guy holds most of the tech people rely on, it is a vulnerability, but also it's one guy: as a global population we should be able to easily just take it from him, so it seems to me the real vulnerability is an internalized belief that private ownership is more sacrosanct than human thriving.
Techno Feudalism is incredible. Still working my way through it and will probably reread it too, but it has made me surer than ever that you can't put your energy (be it creativity, cultural artifacts or problem-solving/engineering) into systems you don't want to see reproduce

Structurally disciplined collective sense-making for civics is everyone’s problem because it’s been no one’s problem. News orgs can only make things that they can own and get credit for. Great people + small orgs work on pieces of it all the time, but the info environment…is what it is.
