Proceeds from the event, along with generous support from the Saab Family Foundation, will fund the Greater Lowell Community Foundation’s LGBTQ+ Fund, which provides annual grants to nonprofits advancing health, legal aid, education, advocacy, and more for the LGBTQ+ community.

During my time in Congress, I fought to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which discriminated against LGBTQ+ military personnel, because I’ve always believed our strength as a nation lies in how we treat one another. True progress takes courage, persistence, and community.

As part of Lowell’s Pride Celebrations, I had the honor of attending the 2nd annual brunch fundraiser for the LGBTQ+ Fund. Led by UMass Lowell Chancellor Julie Chen & her spouse, Susu Wong, the Fund reflects their powerful commitment to equity, inclusion, and lasting impact in our community. (1/3)

The efforts that've been undertaken since we established the sustainability initiative at UMass Lowell in 2008 have been nothing short of remarkable & only accelerated by Brian & Kim Rist's generous gift to create the Rist Institute for Sustainability & Energy at UMass Lowell in 2019. (3/3)
