As Trump cuts food assistance, Governor Healey creates task force to prevent hunger in Massachusetts. Task force brings together state and local leaders, food security champions, business, nonprofits, farmers and residents directly impacted by federal cuts.

1 in 3 Massachusetts households experienced food insecurity in 2024. On July 4, President Trump signed a law that cuts SNAP benefits and makes it harder for seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities to keep food on the table. President Trump also cancelled more than $15 million in funding that provides healthy food to child care programs, schools and food banks in Massachusetts. Governor Healey’s Anti-Hunger Task Force will help mitigate President Trump’s cuts to food assistance and find long-term solutions to hunger.
