In defence of North's trade - Looking at Code Sports, The Age, ESPN, Fox Footy and Twomey's mock drafts. Whitlock was ranked higher than Faull in 4 of the 5. Tigers took Faull at 14. Whitlock was ranked 11, 13, 13, 19 and 15. Ignore it was pick 27 - North don't need more mids. They needed Whitlock
I just eye-balled it and think most clubs up until GWS had reasons to pass - dogs needed use their pick so would have passed as well. Need to know what they were offering GWS.
That’s what makes me think they might have just been asking for straight first swaps earlier in the draft or something like that.
I also think the offers to other clubs were significantly different as well and we’ll just never hear about them.
I think North think - and so did a lot of others pre-draft - that they’ve got the best key fwd in this draft. I reckon I can make it make sense considering their list, what I don’t get is why nobody accepted the offer until Tiges 27.

Makes it pretty clear that Group C with Mavs, Nuggs, Grizz and Warriors is a pretty tough one to get out of
