HCBS programs help with personal care, personal development, transportation, job training, adult care programs- SO much that Medicaid normally won't cover but are CRUCIAL
are only allowed by the federal government if it is proven to cost less than institutionalized care (which Medicaid has to cover).
If the administration is able to come up with numbers that show it's less cost effective, the HCBS waivers are gone. Home care is gone. So, what does that mean?
First and foremost, I want to stress that while Medicaid is required to cover institutionalized LTSS, home care and HCBS services are optional programs provided by the state and funded by Medicaid. Usually through various waiver programs.

Today, the FDA refused to endorse it as a treatment for autism, saying there weren’t enough data to support it.
