Portland and Lewiston, Maine are next on the list of diverse blue cities with governors that have stood up to Trump. The dread and fear among our neighbors and our daughters' friends and classmates is so real and so cruel that I want to scream my head off.

Here's our governor's response today.

"Maine knows what good law enforcement looks like. Our law enforcement are held to high professional standards, undergo substantial professional training, are accountable to the law, & I can tell you this, they don't wear a mask to shield their identities, & they don't arrest people to fill quotas."

ICE is headed to Maine The Mayors of Portland and Lewiston confirmed Wednesday ICE's imminent presence.

ICE is coming to Portland and Lewiston imminently, their mayors confirmed today. Both cities have large Somali populations.

When reached for comment, ICE wouldn’t even confirm whether or not this action was happening.

School has been cancelled tomorrow and Friday across the city of Minneapolis, because our federal government has made it unsafe for children here.

She is enthusiastic and playful -- curling the dot in the i in her name into a heart, and narrating her thinking with droll asides like "I promise I have a better strategy... maybe." She is also hardworking, and collaborates well with the other students in the group.
