I do like the premise of this to be honest. Just show up, and can talk as much or as little as you want with no pressure. Plenty of groups in my area too.

I guess when you hit rock bottom in life, there's only one direction you can go...

*sorry for the rambling. The anonymity of this platform makes me feel like I can get away with it...

But as said, compared to other people, that is nothing, and that's why I somewhat feel daft feeling sorry for myself. I've depersonalised that much I'm still numb to the reality, until I'm 4 pints deep and want to end it all... 🙄

On the flip side, 2 years ago I lost my dad, lost my brother in the most horrific way imaginable, left my job due to breakdown, ultimately spending months indoors on my own, which has now led to my 7 year relationship ending, losing my GF and my step son. Now 'homeless' with nothing and no one.

Feel like also my other main issue is that I'm so depersonalised right now due to it all, that if I was to actually go through therapy, would it backfire and make me face the reality of real life...

Everyone has issues and mine probably seem so small and daft in comparison...

Yeah, like the online therapy helped somewhat I can't lie about that, but it also just felt a little too impersonal, just a bit weird sitting and talking to a screen, and for some reason the time slot always seemed to be prevalent because it was literally on screen at all times, felt rushed.

Bit of a personal, and serious, post here, but what help is there out there for men going through a really dark place and state of mind in life? Did therapy through the NHS, but sitting on a laptop talking to someone through a screen really didn't do that much for me, no offense...

Makes complete sense, though I'd replace shop with shopping centre as it felt in my case at least - This huge, massive world that you're now left to navigate on your own with no guidance or support. It's horrible. 2 years for me and I still feel lost.

As a step dad myself, and I mean this with respect, but blood means nothing at times as apposed to someone who's earned the title of 'dad', gone out of their way in life to put you as a priority. Lost my dad 2 years ago and it's shit. Sorry for your loss though, it's horrible.

It's quite simply full on censorship, suppression, dictatorship, control by the Government.

Then you have Reform coming out and stating they'd repeal the act if they came to power. I'm not saying Reform are right, but Starmer is literally handing them it on a plate.

I've also read about hundreds of sites that may, or have, simply blocked UK users because they simply can't afford to implement the protocols necessary for said checks, and don't want to face prosecution.

Easy to laugh it off when all we think of as NSFW is porn, but there's literally hundreds of shit on the Internet that can be deemed NSFW. Example, I'm now blocked from sobriety subreddits because that's classed as NSFW. Same for some of the history ones too.
